The Carnival of Weekend Wanderings, Edition #3

Welcome to the 3rd Carnival of Weekend Wanderings! While most of the places in northern hemisphere are still feeling the coldness of winter, Dubai summer is slowly knocking on my door. That means we only have a few weeks to go before we imprison ourselves in our houses to get away from the desert heat!

On to the carnival…

Lady presents Dubai Miracle Garden: A Paradise on Earth posted at Lady & her Sweet Escapes. The photos will make you wonder if this is really in Dubai – 72,000 square meters, with 4 km pathways, 1 km flower wall and over 45 million REAL flowers!

Dubai Miracle Garden is only open for a few weeks each year and will definitely close when Dubai heats up so if you haven’t visited, now is the time!

Sandy of Ginger and Scotch and her lovely family went to the desert for a Full Moon Desert Drumming. Shame, I never knew about this once a month event! I would love to go to one someday soon.

Sarah posted about her trip to the exotic place of Jebel Akhdar in Oman at The Hedonista. Great tips with things to do, what to eat, etc!

Sheila presents iFly Dubai posted at shoutingwind. iFly is an indoor sky diving adventure. Almost everything is possible in Dubai!

Andy Hayes presents Beaver Creek, Colorado: The Perfect Ski/Spa/Wine Weekend Getaway posted at Plum Deluxe, saying, “Beaver Creek makes for the perfect weekend getaway, for skiing, spa treatments, and a few glasses of wine.”

Emma Goho presents Weekend Wonders posted at gohemiantravellers, saying, “Hey, I’m Emma from London, I had a great weekend here last week where I dressed up in lots of fun outfits, held a tarantula and went to London Fashion Week…pretty awesome weekend if I do say so myself. ”

Meghana presents Around The World: Martins Farm, Whitefield Bangalore posted at Around The World, saying, “Good weekend gateaway for families with Kids living around Bangalore India”

Didi contemplates on expat life here and family/friends back home while getting busy in the kitchen making Salted Dry Herring Pasta (not your ordinary pasta – it’s with a Filipino twist)! at D for Delicious.

Another foodie entry…Sally had a menu tasting for Carluccio’s for the food they will serve at The Taste of Dubai next week in Simple Italian Food with Clever Wine Matching at My Custard Pie.

Finally, Nada of Undefined Declarations tells about her wonderful night with jazz and lovely talk show by famous author Dr. John Gray of the Men are from Mars, women are from Venus fame.

That concludes our 3rd carnival edition. Thank you all for your submissions! Please spread the word about the carnival on your blog or on Twitter so we can get more people to participate next time. I, for one, would love to read more!

Next edition is up on March 21, 2013 and you have now until the 20th of March to write and send me your ‘weekend wanderings’ posts through this article submission form.
