The Carnival of Weekend Wanderings, Edition #5

carnival of weekend wanderings

Long time, no carnival! Sorry I had to take a break – I could tell you that I was busy with work but that reason gets boring so yeah, I was busy with work. :)

YOU?

Welcome to another roundup of the Carnival of Weekend Wanderings – where did you go last weekend? What did you do? Found a new restaurant in town, tried a new recipe?

Here’s what the bloggers have been up to!

Tired of the fast paced city life? Tarana of Sand in My Toes and her family went to escape at a Mountain Retreat in  Al Ain overlooking the Jebel Hafeet mountains – see a glimpse of a different UAE, away from the glitz of Dubai!

Next time you go to the beach, try something new! Natalia went to hunt for sea glass at Life’s Little Talks.

Tamara at Global Gazette had a great Family Fun at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. Post also includes a video of traditional book binding!

There’s a crocodile in the mall! Abigail writes about their dining experience at Rainforest Cafe in Dubai Mall (have you been? I haven’t been!) at My Nappy Tales.

Sally at My Custard Pie shows us how to make a very Simple Roast Tomato Soup, iPhone style! The soup looks so sophisticated no one can tell it’s so easy to make!

It’s getting hotter and when it’s hot, it’s time to hit the pool. Or better yet, the water parks! Dubai boasts of a good one – check out Wild Wadi, the ultimate water adventure park posted at My Yellow Bells.

I’m never a crafty person so when I saw how this baby shower was hosted, I was impressed. Check out Expecting a Princess at Diary of a Desert Fox for the awesome baby shower decors!

One last foodie treat: Sarah discovers Fateer posted at The Hedonista. She also shares valuable information where you can find your Fateer fix in Dubai. Must bookmark!

Congratulations to Sandy at Ginger and Scotch! It’s been two years since she launched her food blog! Check out the featured recipes in her blog anniversary post!
