September’s going to end and do you know what’s in October? Sure there are lots but it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month and on October 2, it’s Lee National Denim Day.

Lee National Denim Day is one of the largest single-day fundraisers for breast cancer. On October 2, millions of people nationwide (in the US – but I think they should make this global) will slip into their favorite jeans and make a $5 donation to support the Women’s Cancer Programs of EIF, who are bringing together world-class scientists to develop an early detection blood test and working in Lee Labs nationwide to find less toxic, more effective treatments for breast cancer patients.

My blog friend, Leanne, a Lee Jeans ambassador has created a team to support Denim Day and breast cancer research. If this cause is personal to you, and it SHOULD BE if you’re a female – why not join? Donate $5 and wear your jeans (even if they aren’t Lee!) on October 2nd. Grab the badge from Leanne’s blog sidebar and display it proudly on your own blog. Ask your readers to contribute, too. Her goal is to reach 100 people by October 2nd.

Breast cancer hits close to home because I’ve lost a beloved aunt several years back because of it. Hopefully you don’t know anyone with breast cancer. But now, ask yourself:” Do I know someone that could get diagnosed with breast cancer one day?” Statistics say that one in eight women will be diagnosed in her lifetime.

You can help by taking part in Lee National Denim Day. Just make a $5 donation at Leanne’s team page and wear your jeans on Friday, October 2.

I’ll be travelling that day but I’ll be sure to wear my jeans to support the program!
