Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture, Japan Snow Festival: Original design of things made out of SNOW.

In my husband’s home town, snow piles up to 3 meters (click the link..the pictures are taken from M’s hometown during the start of winter) even in early spring. The people in his town organized the annual snow festival to attract tourists to the always barren, white winter wonderland and utilize all the snow to good use.

Awesome original snow sculpture! When I see snow I start dreaming… haven’t seen real snow in way too many years. I miss it!

Wow! That’s beautiful! We sometimes get that kind of snow too, but the artwork is limited to snowmen…

That is a very cool, original snow sculpture! My humans lived in Ottawa before moving to Munich, and Ottawa has “Winterlude” every year, a winter festival on the World’s longest skating rink (the Rideau Canal) that also features snow sculptures!

My original photo.
