Old-fashioned lamps used sometime long ago in Arabia. Photo taken at the historic Bastakiya district, Dubai where you can see some tantalizing views of Old Dubai.

This is terrific. I can almost get a certain whiff of kerosene as I walk by.

Kerosene lamps? That’s really old fashioned. If I were to use that now, I MIGHT burn down my house with me so clumsy :oops:

I like your choice Grace! I have a petroleum lamp too – though not as old as yours! ;) (I do have one like that, too, but it’s too dusty to take a photo of LOL)

I love it! We had kerosene lamps in our house when I was a child. This is my first Photo Hunt, and I’m not sure what I’m doing or where to go post your picture – help! Oh, I’ll figure it out somehow. I just copied your post for the most part! :-) Except I don’t know how to do the Mr. Linky thing…

Clearly old-fashioned! Having lived with one, I can say that the light’s no-where near as good as electric, though.
