My son sleep. Aren’t sleeping children such a beauty to watch? He is 5 years old and still sleeps with me. While I try so hard to wake up early to get in exercise before going to work in the morning every day, sometimes, I spend ridiculous amount of time just watching my son sleep and planting my nose on his head. These are really precious moments for me where there are no distractions, the world still asleep and we have each other and he’s not wriggling his way out when I try to grab him for a kiss!
Btw, I’ve given up on Sherlock, after 3 episodes! I can’t follow through it without thinking if 1.5 hours of butt-on-the-couch time is worth it.
The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. I’ve heard about it countless of times but never got my own copy till now. Since it was published in 1923, The Prophet has never been out of print. The perennial classic has been translated into more than 50 languages and is a staple on international best-seller lists.. It’s not a thick book but it sure left a big mark in my heart. The book is made up of 26 prose poems and my favorite are the sections about Love, Marriage and Children.
The passage on Children goes,
“Your children are not your children./ They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself./ They come through you, but not from you./ And though they are with you yet they belong not to you./ You may give them your love, but not your thoughts./ For they have their own thoughts/ You may house their bodies but not their souls./ For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.”
My brother’s 32nd birthday. He’s been in Dubai since 2012 and we get to celebrate his birthday whenever he’s here (and not travelling). I can’t believe he’s 32 now. I used to take care of him when he was a baby and even take him to my school with me if our mother has some urgent errands and there’s no one available to babysit.
Dubai Creek Harbour at Ras Al Khor. A cool place with very chill vibe. When it’s completed, a new community in Dubai will rise, with the creek and Dubai’s beautiful skyline on the horizon. We went to the launched and admired the beauty of the sunset.
Alive. By the grace of God, I’ve not in any kind of pain since the new year started so I am able to continue with my workouts and daily chores. After bouts of health issues last year, I am hoping for better health this year.
