13 SONGS THAT REMIND ME OF LAZY AFTERNOONS NOT TOO LONG AGO

  • Arthur’s Theme – Christopher Cross, 1981. “Once in your life  you find her…” Watch & Listen
  • Every Woman in the World – Air Supply, 1980. “Over night scenes dinner and wine, Saturday girls…” Watch & Listen
  • Lonely is the Night – Air Supply, 1986. “Never thought that I, could live without you…” Watch & Listen.
  • The Glory of Love – Peter Cetera, 1986. “Tonight is very clear…” Peter Cetera looks really comical in this video but it’s still a great song.
  • Hard Habit to Break – Chicago, 1984.

I guess I thought you’d be here forever
Another illusion I chose to create
You don’t know what ya got until it’s gone
And I found out just a little too late
I was acting as if you were lucky to have me
Doin’ you a favor I hardly knew you were there
But then you were gone and it was all wrong
Had no idea how much I cared

Chorus:
Now being without you
Takes a lot of getting used to
Should learn to live with it
But I don’t want to
Living without you
Is all a big mistake
Instead of getting easier
It’s the hardest thing to take
I’m addicted to ya babe
You’re a hard habit to break

Ain’t it obvious that this is my favorite? :-)

Refresh your memories of the song.

  • Against All Odds – Phil Collins. “How can I let you walk away just let you leave without a trace…” Watch & Listen
  • After the Love Has Gone – Earth, Wind and Fire, 1979. “For a while, to love was all we could do…” Watch & Listen
  • It Might Be You – Stephen Bishop, 1986. “Time, I’ve been passing time watching days go by, all of my life…” Watch & Listen
  • Careless Whisper – Wham!, 1984 “Time can never mend…” Watch & Listen
  • Heaven – Bryan Adams, 1984. “Oh, thinkin’ about our younger years, there was only you and me, we were young and wild and free…” Watch & Listen
  • Make it with you - Bread, 1970. “Hey have you ever tried…”
  • Don’t Dream It’s Over – Crowded House, 1986. “There is freedom within, there is freedom without…” Watch & Listen
  • You Got It All – The Jets, 1987. “I, I was a game he would play…” Watch & Listen

Such great songs… I’m not embarrassed to admit publicly that I love Air Supply, and that Chicago’s greatest hits is on my mp3 player. And Heaven, wow. That was my song with my high school sweetheart. Still brings a nostalgic tear to my eye.

Great TT.

Great list! I love Air Supply and Chicago too. And The Glory of Love is my favorite song ever…it was the theme song of Karate Kid.

Awesome list of songs! I can see myself laying on a hammock under a coconut tree, margarita in one hand, a book in the other, listening to these songs. Happy T13!

Some great songs on your list and some of my favorites. I love Crowded House’s Don’t Dream it’s Over. Of course the Finn Brothers are big down here in NZ since they’re Kiwis. :)

We have a common chord their grace! I love songs from the 70s and 80s. I’m a big fan of the Beegies too- I noticed you didn’t list any of their songs- do you also like them? I remembered that the song “It might be You” was used as a soundtrack to one of my favorite movies- Tootsi starring Dustin Hoffman and Jessica Lange in early 80s.
