Burj Dubai on Christmas Day 2009

The Burj Dubai – world’s tallest building is set to open its doors to the public on January 4, 2010. It stands at more than 800 meters high (total height yet to be revealed). Stomach-turning but impressive.

Photo taken on December 25, 2009 with my small but powerful Canon PowerShot SD960IS.

I’ve heard a building is going to stand taller than this (still in Dubai).

Wow! It’s finally built. That took a while! I think I saw it back in 2001 when there were fewer malls… or maybe not.

Wow, what a beautiful shot! This would be perfect for our Looking @ The Sky on Friday meme. :)

Good to see ya ’round at CrazY Working Mom. Hope to see ya back real soon.

Oh, and yes that was baby Emily who is now almost 16 months old. She does look exactly like Tyler. We always said he’d make a pretty girl. *LOL*

You can bet your bottom dollar that you’ll never find me at the top of that thing. And that’s not only because I’ll probably never make it to Dubai! Yikes that thing is scary!

I just LOVE your blog – everything seems so exotic and wonderful…and these buildings/hotels, etc. in Dubai are AMAZING! (I’m particularly facinated by the one w/the ski slope inside!). Keep up the great stuff!

Incredible. It’s amazing the things they think up, let alone the what they can build.

Even though I am afraid of heights, I know that if I get to Dubai, I will have to go to the top of this building because it is there!! It’s like going to New York City and NOT going to the top of the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.
What a beautiful photograph, with the clouds in the photo… great little camera you have there.
Thanks for sharing!!
