Burj Dubai is aiming to be 300 meters taller than Taipei 101, the world’s tallest building today. Thanks to the frantically fast construction speed, yesterday it officially overtook Taiwan’s skyscraper reaching 512.1 meters (1,680 feet).
It is now totalling 141 completed floors and still has a long way to go. However, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, like most standard bodies will not recognize or award its world-record height just yet – until it is completed.
The finished height of Burj Dubai is kept as a secret and will not be told until it is complete.
At the foot of the would-be tallest building in the world!

I can’t imagine being in a building so tall!
OK, that scares me just looking at it..but it is kinda cool. I saw that on the news earlier today (before I saw this post) and I thought about you…..really cool!
Wow! and to think that you are there to witness it all… When is it projected to finish?
I am always facinated by these tall buildings although I DON’T REALLY see the sense in having them ha ha ha
My husband read this in the newspaper the other day and I thought of you over there! I’m pretty conservative on the height thing – so good for them, but there’s no way I’ll be making a trip up.
Iam dreaming
I was putting links into my new website and came accross this one and I thought I would add it.
