honest people still walk in the streets of Dubai

I got a call from a local bank saying, “Madam, can you please check if you have your ATM card with you?”

My ATM card is not with me. It’s always not with me because my husband, our house accountant is managing our finances and holds all the cards. He could not have lost the card, could he? He is the most cautious person regarding money matters and if someone carelessly leaves ATM cards, it would likely be me.

“A lady called saying she found your ATM card still stuck in the ATM machine. Would you like to get the card directly from her if you are still in the area or do you want me to lock it for you?”

I could not get the card directly from her as I was not in the area. My good husband has checked our balance in an ATM machine, got the paper slip and left – leaving the poor card behind!

Oh boy, he just scored careless points big enough that he lost all his right to pick on my small mistakes for a year!

The honest stranger took out the card from the machine and did not do anything although she can since the card was still stuck there and available for any transaction, including withdrawal.

Thank you, stranger. It’s nice to know there’s still people like you roaming in the chaotic streets of Dubai.

I am glad the lady turned your ATM card in. That’s a nice feeling to know that there are still honest people out there.

My husband I both laugh now, when we have DOH moments!!

That is scary. Glad good people still exist.

Your husband better not screw up. The worst is being teased by one mistake.

That is so wonderful to hear! Sometimes I forget that there ARE honest people in the world. Someone from my workplace stole my wedding ring from the rest room (I no longer remove my rings when washing my hands…hard lesson learned) and it was devastating.
