Someone spilled water on the corridor. I expected someone to come with a mop to clean it but what happened was extra-ordinary: everyone walked as if the floor is not wet, carefully skirting the corners to avoid the wet spot. Of course one can only avoid it too carefully – in no time, there are muddy footprints in the area.
I asked why the mess was left like that and the answer I get?
The office boy is busy.
Why do we have to wait for the office boy to clean? Just because we are not office boys, doesn’t mean we don’t have two hands to get the mop and clean right?
“But madame, the company is not paying you just to clean floors!”
Still I got newspapers (no mop) and cleaned it and they later joined. I don’t want to break my head slipping on the wet floor just because I’ve been snooty.
