The conditions that lead to food poisoning in food outlets in Dubai does not vary much between summer and winter. Even in winter, the ambient temperature is 30 deg C or more in a typical kitchen. The ideal condition for the growth of food poisoning bacteria is a range from 30 to 40 Deg C and this is possible through out the year if the food that has to be held hot is not kept under temperature control using a hot holding equipment ( bain marie). Restaurants have to make sure that cooked, hot food is held above 60 Deg C till it is served and cold food is held below 5 Deg C.

Summer and winter can have an effect only if the food is exposed to ambient temperature.

Why do we see so many cases during summer and nothing during winter?
Simpy because the media is active only during summer. The press do not do any stories during winter - they simply do not look for it!
In the colder countries, summer time means more out door activities ( more barbecues and cooking outdoors). This often leads to an increase in the number of food poisoning cases.

Food poisoning is a serious problem in many countries. It seems like it's always the children and elderly that suffer the most from it. I've had my fair share of run-ins with food sickness. It makes you think twice before eating out...

Very unfortunate for the children. I feel for the parents; especially the mother who ordered food unaware of this being the possible outcome. But I cannot forget about the father being away only to find his children gone. This is truly sad.

That's sad i cant begin to imagine the grief that these parents are feeling at the moment.

I totally agree that the restaurant should be shut down forever and the chef never to allow to work in another restaurant.

That Hospital should defintely be checked

My heart goes out to the parents
