I am not supposed to be here today but I came anyway to blog work. Never mind the yucky feel of my wet shirt touching my skin and making me cold here inside the office — someone wants me to have pneumonia again by setting the a/c at 15C!! Idiots.
The story behind the wet shirt – I walked for 20 minutes under the hot sun. Without an umbrella. I’ve gotta get rid of these sunglasses for a while, it’s giving me a weird tan on my face. Imagine the area around my eyes having a different skin color!!
But I’ve got a consolation today and a little reason to celebrate.
Dubai Naturalization and Residency office has ACCEPTED my application for my mom’s residence visa!! After being passed from one immigration person to another, they accepted the application and told me to wait for a week.
I know, another gruelling week of waiting but at least we were not denied. I was so nervous I just kept on praying and calling on God, mine and theirs.
If my mom gets the residence visa, she can stay here as long as I (her sponsor) am here. That, translated to working-mom’s-terms: I can work peacefully knowing my daughter is in the care of someone I really trust.
