Looking back at 2009 fitness & a TT 50% off sale!

200928Dec

by Grace

This year has been life changing for me health and fitness wise. I discovered  body weight training in the form of the Turbulence Training program created by Craig Ballantyne and used by thousands in the world in transforming their bodies and most importantly, reducing body fat. I’m happy with my results because for the first time ever, my jean size moved – 3 sizes smaller.

I can spend all day talking about the program but today, I’d just like to count the things I’ve realized this year with regards to my personal health and fitness. Do share yours in the comments, ok?

never give up

  1. It’s normal to be in a slump/lose your motivation but don’t ever give up.
  2.

  3. No one can solve your weight problems except yourself.
  4.

  5. Your health and fitness is your sole responsibility – reiterating #1, no one can make the fat go away - not your doctor, your fitness instructor, the gym, your gym buddy or your mother. YOU are in charge.
  6.

  7. You should be teachable. Read about nutrition, exercise and you might be surprised about the things you didn’t know and bust myths like the fat burning zone, crash diets, etc.
  8.

  9. There are no shortcuts, no magic pills and patches to make you like a Victoria’s Secret model overnight. If the overhyped weight loss pills ever work, don’t you think there would still be obese people walking around?
  10.

  11. Every positive effort you work toward a goal will gain positive results.
  12.

  13. Motivation should come from within, but if it doesn’t, reading other people’s weight loss success stories might help. Or joining the 12-week transformation contest will make you work toward a specific goal. Try to give it all you got for twelve weeks!
  14.

  15. Our bodies will find it difficult to recognize processed food as real, normal food. Sticking to real, whole foods will help you lose fat.
  16.

  17. We all know what’s bad food, we are just in denial (sometimes).
  18.

  19. Bodyweight exercises work. You don’t even sign up for a gym membership to do it and you can do it anywhere.
  20.

  21. The Turbulence Training program works. See the past Transformation Contest winners and read their essays here. I’ve also done a couple of posts about it.
  22.

  23. In fat loss, exercise and nutrition go hand in hand. One can’t be without the other.
  24.

  25. You can’t out-train a bad diet. No matter how much time you spend in the gym, if you eat a large pizza afterwards, belly fat won’t go away.

Grace, I’m so proud of how well you have done in your program this past year!!
Three sizes lost in your jeans is amazin! I have lost one size, but I am very limited to the kind of exercise I can do… I am hoping when I see my surgeon Wednesday, I can increase my activity level a tiny bit again.
You have a lot of information in this post and you are so right about motivation, exercise and eating right being the real keys. Nobody can do it for us, and we CAN do it if we really try.
Good luck with your continued efforts next year!

Thank you very much Lorie! I’d like to stick to my size 8 now or at least bring it further down to my pre pregnancy size. :-)

I’ve given birth 6 years ago already so I’ve lost all the excuses of still having the preggy belly

Way to go, Grace. It’s funny how we all know this stuff, but most fail to put it into practice. ‘Cause it’s so easy to be lazy! I’m thinking of getting this on sale now for my post-partum workout. I still have excess weight from my first pregnancy to work off! I’m a looong way from my pre-first-baby wieght…sigh…
