It’s Week 6 of the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest – a fat loss, body transformation challenge I signed my overweight self up to finally lose weight and get back to all the clothes sleeping in my closet. The transformation contest is for 12 weeks and it’s halfway done. I can’t believe how fast time flies.
So how am I doing?
I’m still here, doing the Turbulence Training program religiously three times a week and doing interval training on the remainig three days. I only weigh myself once every week on Fridays when I wake up but yesterday, my mood flipped. The scale did not budge.
But I won’t cry like a baby and throw in the towel and giveup. I know that the fluctuations in the scale do not represent fat or muscle, it is a combination of both. It also reflects the amount of water retained along any food that has not yet been processed by our bodies. Plus, the scale is just one tool to measure progress and should not be relied alone to measure fat loss.

Another reason I didn’t get depressed wtih the no weight-loss (scale number wise) is that a package came, a prize I won over at Leanne’s blogmore than a month ago. I gave her my usual size before starting the Turbulence Training program. It finally arrived last weekend and I excitedly put it on. Guess what, the Lee’s Capri (which I so love by the way, perfect for Dubai’s weather) fell down from my waist on to my bottocks. Just two months ago, a pant of the same exact size had a snug fit on me - that piece of fabric I pulled was filled with belly fat (remember, people were speculating I was pregnant, with twins LOL)! I have to put a belt and I have never used my belt for six freaking years.
How’s that for random confession?
Another embarassing photo…but it’s all part of the accountability in this weight loss journey. So you are allowed to be mean and say, ewww! Promise I won’t kill, it’ll probably motivate me more!
Brief summary of this week’s challenge: No weight loss but pant size loss. Who cares about the scale if I look better?

Wow!
I salute you for the discipline and for losing all those belly fat
. Keep it up!
Now that is a BIG difference since the last shot. You go girl! Aren’t you proud of yourself? I’m proud of you and I don’t even know you
You go, girl!!!
CONGRATULATIONS! I think your are looking fabulous! Well done. Never mind the scale, the pants say it all.
LOOK at that! amazing! BIG change.
You are doing fantastic. Kick the scale to the curb. You are right, as long as you feel better, keep it up! You have already accomplished a lot for being half way there!
You probably replace the fat content with your muscle (which is a good thing because it will burn more fat)! So don’t give up. If you look better and you feel better than that’s what count. Way to go!
I also want to let you know that I gave you ‘One Lovely Blog Award’.

Thanks for all the posts. I really enjoy learning more about desert living, Dubai style.
Who cares about the scale its all about the clothes lol and your belly is fading away. GOOD on you!!
Yay for you!!!! I’d rather have my clothes fit better than obtain a certain number on the scale. You have done great sticking with this program!
Congratulations, and I’m so glad they’ve arrived and that (even though you need a belt to hold them up) you like them!!
WAYYYYY to go!
