Did you know that the Middle East stretches as far west as the Western Sahara in Africa? What is the smallest country in the Middle East?
I love geography. Memorizing all the countries with their respective capitals was my favorite past time even before I entered high school. Then I escalated into memorizing the flags, the currencies, then the nicknames of each of the states in the US. I clearly had all the free time in the world. It was fun, at least for me. A great challenge I can always take even now.
I found this on Sabine’s blog and of course, I wasn’t able to resist, especially that I am living in this region. I’d say I scored well! If only big old Russia didn’t blow up into pieces of tiny nations, my score would have been perfect on the first try.

Well, I tried it and just found out again that I still suck at geography, especially in this region. With most countries I didn’t have a clue. I’m just glad I had multiple tries for each, otherwise I still wouldn’t know where they are. Sadly, even when I tried it a second time from the beginning, I got several ones mixed up again. Very frustrating. Maybe I should have stayed awake in school more often during geography lessons… ;o)
yeah that was my problem as well, I knew that all those -stan countries belong near Russia, just didn’t know in what order!
Wow I did quite a bit better than I thought(but not great) – once I got a few major ones in it seemed that the others just fell in to place but there were a few I had to try in every blank spot. It helps that all those countries over by turkey like to end in istan then I could make some guesses.
Geography has always been one of my worst subject. I probably couldn’t even name all 50 states!
i suck at geography, was able to get it though by trial and error hahaha…

That was fun! I love geography. Ha! If it wasn’t for countries dividing, and renaming themselves, I still did pretty good. I remembered about 75 percent. It helped to have a teen daughter who just had social studies last year and had to study all the new Russian countries.
Yeah, that was a fun quiz. I wish there were more like that online.
