This photo was taken during Pristine’s second year at the daycare in Japan, where we previously lived before coming to Dubai. This explains the rain, the umbrella, the boots, the long sleeved shirt, everything! 
I am very proud of her not crying on the way to school, unlike the previous year. She won’t even let me carry her despite the rain: “I can manage, mom. I have my boots and my own umbrella!”

What a cutie-pie. She looks so proud of herself.
What is it about little girls and boots? Last year my daughter had a pair of pink rain boots with hearts and she wore them day in and day out for MONTHS, rain or shine (and like you, we have a lot more shine than rain in the winter, not as much as Dubai, but still quite a lot). She literally wore them out – the rubber was all cracked and broken, and of course thus nothing like waterproof, but she still wouldn’t give them up. I think we finally threw them out in May!
