All items at the vintage shop, 5 Gardenias have loved, lived, and have plenty of tales to tell. Each piece is waiting for it’s new home, new hands, new favorite shelf, new view out the window.

Kathi Roussel the artist behind 5 Gardenias makes jewelry and sculpture but  also have a passion for collecting. She collects vintage items that are on display on her Etsy shop.

I’m fascinated by the quirkiness, intrinsic beauty, and often amazingly wonderful design that shines through each object— the time, wear and travel that lingers on the surfaces and in the nooks and crevices.

A boy with a straw hat, is showing a duckling to a little girl with a kerchief and a pigtail. mama duck watches, and papa duck and another duckling are gathered around. this sweetest detailed silhouette is cut from of a thin sheet of wood, painted matte black, and set in a small base so that it can stand freely. looks fantastic from either side and anywhere it stands!

This piece caught my eye the first time I visited Kathi’s Etsy shop and I am so thrilled that one of my readers will get to own this!
