After being the only child and only grandchild and youngest child in the neighbourhood for 2 1/2 years, he now has a baby sister. He adores her and is a fabulous big brother, but he’s been demonstrating some behaviours lately and I think it’s related to his struggling to make sense of loving her and wishing she wasn’t here at the same time and not being particularly fond of change. He is also easily frustrated – he’s very independent and finds it difficult when he can’t do things on his own.

We live far away from family, and even though I’m at home with him all day, sometimes he seems like he’d like to spend time with someone besides me and my husband. We’re trying play groups, but it’s a process.
The one I like the best is the bug box. But they are all cute.

In a tiny but strong voice, she will say, “OHHHH, I CAN’T do it!!!” We’re working on showing her that even grown ups have to practice some things before they can do them well.

So far my 18 month son has the hardest time expressing his frustration which then turns into a tantrum. Thank you for the scopp on these lovely emo-creatures
