I won a  SwellyBelly Maternity Belly Band and Nursing Cover from an online shop aptly called Nine Moons (my win was courtesy of a Twitter contest some months back.)

I’m not pregnant (yet) but I wasted no time using the Purple Haze Belly Band and just love it. It goes with pretty much anything, from simple t-shirt to a more elegant blouse. The eye-catching pattern and color gives my simple shirts a boost of excitement. The elastic bands on both the top and bottom worked really well to keep it in place.

I’ve been pregnant once and I know how my shirts are going to ride up and get short as my belly expands. This will be so handy – I can’t wait to use it!

Did you know? SwellyBellies can also be useful for nursing moms when nursing in public. If exposing too much skin makes you hesitate nursing in public, this is one clever solution. I could have used this ingenuity some years back and spare myself of humiliation inside the plane. Long story.

One more use of the Belly Band that you might not expect? A tummy warmer. Yes, I do live in the desert where it’s summer-y and warm (insanely hot on some months!) but my work place and the malls are freezing! I love the little warmth the Belly Band gives me.
