When it fogs, point the camera at the sun, it will help it unfog quickly. (I learned that from a photographer onboard)

Sandstorms isn't fun when you're in the middle of it. That day, my mom who was outside said it was windy and the wind picks up sand and dust. You'll be surprised to find sand in the rims of your bra! (not that I was walking around Dubai with only my bra) LOL!

If only it wasn't so hot and the probability that my camera will be damaged, taking fog shots would be fun...

>>But if it breaks, you can get a new one, because you live in Dubai :)

Oh no, I've saved for that camera all my life (ok, a little exagerration there) but no, we couldn't afford to buy again if it breaks!

I think, but am not possitive, that if you keep the camera warmer than the room temperature, by wraping it in such things as towels and blankets, it will not react as much to the temperature change when you go outside. We used to do that when we traveled to the Carribbean on cruise ship and the cabin was so cold but outside was so warm. But with such a drop in change, I am not sure if it would work. You are correct that the condensation is not good for the inner workings of your camera, so I would try to keep it wrapped up anyway if you are going to be taking it in and out on a regular basis.
Thanks for the pictures anyway, they are very interesting... I had heard about the sandstorm on the news, believe it or not. Since I have been following your blog, I have been listening to any news I can glean about Dubai from anywhere. :-) I am glad that you are all safe and sound. Have a great week.

Oh wow!
Those are amazing, especially the last one with the sand storm...I don't think I have ever seen one!
It's very lovely(but then again, I'm not the one stuck in it Lol)
Unfortunately, I'm not sure about the fogged lens, but If I come across anything I'll let you know!

Oh my gosh. I kinda like the haze effect! I'd just use this time to take haze and fog shots.

I know, I know. The temp fluctuations aren't good for the camera.
But if it breaks, you can get a new one, because you live in Dubai :)

"hell's burnin at the back of my neck".... I love it! It sounds sort of poetic.
