I've got it - that woman who won the Best Hat contest is one prepared woman. If a stranger comes to attack, she simply pulls off her hat and either a) scares him away with its ugliness, or b) those long red things are hiding tiny sabres with which to cut off the fingers of her aggressor. I hate the hats. I told DB that I refuse to wear them if we every go to a horse racing event. He says I have to. That’s funny though because that ones in the pictures are no longer hats! They’re just head ornaments or something like that.
