T’was raining all night

Clasps of thunder and bolts of lightning must have kept so many people awake last night. For curtainless houses/apartments like ours, the flashes of lightning made us feel like we’re in a photo shoot, only without a camera’s clickety sound, just rolls of noisy thunder after.

It rained hard the whole night I was a little bit afraid the whole city would be flooded by 3 am. God forbid the flood could reach our 7th floor flat!

When morning came, the rain has stopped but the sun was nowhere. We had gray skies and a cold morning today. I didn’t have time to take photos or blog earlier because I spent my morning at the emergency section at the Pediatric department in Al Wasl Hospital. Pristine is sick – whole night of coughing spells and breathless asthma. No medicine seemed to work long enough for her to even just nap. I did not get any sleep, nor did she. The time we got to the hospital, she was “in distress”. Thankfully, the nurses and doctors gave the proper immediate medical attention and helped us get through another rough night. Pristine is now back home, resting.

I wanted to stay for the whole day today but I had to go to work in the afternoon. I lied and said, no, I’ll just pick up some of her medication from the nearby pharmacy so she wouldn’t cry but she gave me a look and said, “I know you’re going to work, mom.” I checked myself, must be the blouse that I usually wear to work?

“I know you’re going to work…and it’s NOT ok!”, she started crying, clinging to me.

These are one of the things I hate being a corporate slave.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today!! Sounds like you have been really busy. I hope your child is feeling better. I used to hate going to work when my children were sick – My heart goes out to you! Someday they will understand the sacrifices. :)

That sounds like an awful night. I can relate a bit now after the recent scare with Jenny, though with a sick child it must be even harder. I hope she’s doing better now. And I hope both of you will get a good night’s sleep tonight.

Oh no. I’m sorry she is having such a difficult time breathing again. They must do something to get her on the right medication. She can’t go on battling like this?

It really is not how a mom should work. A mom should be able to stay home when needed. HUGS to both of you
