I am throwing all the prescription tablets from the ob-gyn. After missing my period for more than one month and feeling very, as in very bloated like a blowfish because of sever water retension, I finally went to the ob-gyn clinic to have myself checked. If you don’t know what it looks like to be bloated, check my beach pictures in the previous posts.
Don’t be too over-excited, there is NO bun in the oven. Every one on their right mind would immediately suspect pregnancy, that, we could not rule out because we are well, normal couple who do, hmm, normal routine. lol
Even though I don’t feel preggers because I’ve already been there, done that, I still bought Clear Blue (test kit) and of course, it was negative. Hubby was smiling from ear to ear outside of the washroom and when I handed him the negative kit, he didn’t know how to react. Happy that we won’t be waking up in the middle of the night for the next months and sad at the same time that Pristine will not have any baby sister or brother. Needless to say, now is not the time for any baby making. We are still new here and have lots of things to attend to other than having a baby. That will have to wait a year or so longer and besides, a baby could easily be done in just a matter of minutes so why hurry?
So then back to the main subject. I suffer from amenorrhea (absence of the menses) when I am in a place where it is warm/hot. I miss my period when it is summer in Japan. I missed lots of it when I was living in the Philippines, and now Dubai…
I don’t know the reason. The ob-gyn did the routine check on me, urine check, blood tests..it all came out negative. I told her so! I am not pregnant, I am only bloating but look like in my second trimester so couldn’t really blame her! She nevertheless asked me to strip down half-naked for ultrasound that took like forever to finish. Yep, there was nothing in there. Nada. I told you so!
So she prescribed meds that contain norethisterone, a progestogen, a hormonal product similar to the natural female hormone progesterone. In a matter of hours, I was oozing with female hormones and raging ones at that! I am irritated (and irritating to the people around me) at every bit of noise I hear, I can’t control my feelings of anger with the slightest mistake the people around me makes. In short, I was becoming bitchy, TOO bitchy!
My daughter has this behavior that normal toddlers do: repeating to say one single thing over and over again. It just freaks me out! My head is throbbing and my heart pounding with anger I am getting scared of what had I become, yet I can’t control it. I want to hide inside the cabinet to prevent myself from shouting or hurting the people living with me. My mom was on the pill several years ago and she was acting strange. She would scold us all the time and very edgy. I guess it’s really these hormone-inducing pills after all.
It is said to treat disturbances in the monthlies, PMS complaints and other stuffs but I am not taking them again. The last thing I would want to be is a rampaging bitch ready to attack anyone ala-jack the ripper.
