The wonderful thing about living in Dubai is that there is always something to surprise you. There’s always a new place coming up, ready to be explored and mark as “favorite”. My recent find is The Pavilion Downtown Dubai. I know, I know, some are raising their eyebrows saying, “what? you didn’t know about it?”
No, I didn’t but I am glad I do now!
The Pavilion exhibits Emaar’s future projects in huge diorama showing the Opera District and other projects, a workstation, a small cozy library and a popular restaurant/cafe.
We had a (rare) quiet family breakfast experience at The Pavilion Downtown Dubai last Saturday. They have this concept of brunch called “The Bench” from 10:30 am-2:30 pm (a proper “brunch”: breakfast + lunch, contrary to most of Dubai’s marathon eating brunch that starts at lunch to 4 pm!).
The Bench features an extensive array of in-house made savory tarts and pastries, healthy salads, rolls, sandwiches, yogurt, fresh juices, seeds and nuts, cheeses, cold cuts and fresh juices.
Warm breakfast is available on demand, as you like it, include eggs benedict, shakshuka, scrambled egg, omelette and pancakes. English breakfast tea and coffee also included in the price (AED99 per person). I have read some online reviews that the food is small, particularly the eggs benedict serving in the below photo but seriously, I think people need to rethink about portion control. And besides, you can order again if you like to!
As opposed to the “traditional” brunch in Dubai, I like that this brunch is kept simple and minimal. I hate to think of food being wasted.
The price of AED 99 includes all the food in the bench. For me, my favorite are the freshly squeezed juices in bottles (green apple, pineapple, orange, watermelon) and the fresh cut fruits.
We had a really nice time at The Pavilion Downtown Dubai, having slow breakfast on a Saturday morning. To be honest, I don’t eat breads or pastries for breakfast so I am glad there are other options. I ordered shakshuka – a dish of eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, chili peppers and onions spiced with cumin. I had a side of hummus. Omelette would be an option too if you don’t fancy shakshuka.
There were salad options available like quinoa salad, green salad, goat cheese with peaches. I had all! Lastly, I had this wonderful pecan pie (without the crust) for dessert paired with warm Chamomile Tea.
Have you been to this place? If not, it’s your lucky day. The Pavilion Downtown Dubai is giving you a dinner or lunch dining experience for two. Entry is easy!
